Making the Most of your Budget...
There are many ways you can reduce the overall cost of your groceries in order to maximise your shopping budget, such as by taking advantage of offers, buying food in bulk and even sharing your food shop with friends. The biggest supermarkets in the UK are Tesco, Morrisons, Asda and Sainsbury's. If it's big branded goods you're after it may be cheaper to buy them in these stores. Also if you are buying in bulk, for example large sacks of rice and pasta, you may find a good deal in the supermarkets.
If you cannot get transport to the supermarket why not try shopping online? The 'Big 4' supermarkets: Tesco, Asda, Morrisons & Sainsbury's all offer home delivery, and many deliver for free if your shopping costs a certain amount. This can be a cheap option if you live in a shared house with other students and you all do your cooking together.
Wait! You don't need to buy everything in one store. In fact it can be cheaper to buy different goods in different stores. It often pays off to shop around, so get walking!
If you live with other students why don't you all think about sharing the cooking? You will reduce your spending by bulk buying items such as cooking oil, rice & spices between you.
